Discover the development of our products
At Arhomani, science is at the heart of everything we do. Since 2015, our mission has been to explore how natural aromas can support the emotional balance and welfare of animals — and their human caregivers.
Our research focuses on the effects of olfactory enrichment and the synergistic action of essential oils within veterinary behavioural medicine. In collaboration with veterinarians, behaviourists, and academic partners, Arhomani studies the various applications and the efficacy of its products.
This scientific approach has already led to peer-reviewed publications and encouraging field results across different species, including dogs, cats, rabbits, and horses.
Arhomani’s philosophy aligns with the One Welfare concept, recognising the interconnection between animal welfare, human well-being, and environmental sustainability.
Our scientific advisor
Dr. Anouck Haverbeke, EBVS© European Veterinary Specialist in Behavioural Medicine, developed Arhomani’s synergy blends and conducts scientific research on olfactory enrichment in animals.
Anouck graduated as a veterinarian from Ghent University in 2001 and obtained her PhD in Ethology from the University of Namur in 2009. Her research demonstrated that positive training methods improve the welfare and performance of military dogs.
Since 2013, Anouck has been actively involved in the European College of Animal Welfare and Behavioural Medicine, where she later also served as President. She is currently an Associate Professor at Ghent University, where she teaches and conducts research in the field of behavioural medicine.
Anouck is a member of several international associations dedicated to animal behaviour, welfare, and integrative veterinary medicine. She regularly gives lectures and seminars in Belgium and abroad on animal behaviour, welfare, and the human–animal relationship.
Are you interested in collaborating on research exploring the link between animal welfare and olfactory enrichment?
We're always open to partnerships with those who share our scientific curiosity and care for animals.
